Quiet literary fiction
Novels that prize language and interiority over plot twists. Think character studies set in small towns, epistolary experiments, and stories that linger long after the final sentence.
"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one." — George R.R. Martin
We sift through thousands of titles so you don't have to. Curated reading lists, honest reviews, and a community of fellow page-turners — all from Limerick, Ireland.
Find your next obsessionFrom the moment you land here to the moment you turn the last page, we have designed every step to feel effortless.
Fill out a brief reading-taste profile. We want to know the genres that thrill you, the authors you revisit, and the book you have gifted the most. This helps our curators match titles to your sensibility rather than an algorithm.
Within 48 hours one of our readers — a real person, not a bot — emails you a shortlist of five to seven book recommendations with brief, spoiler-free notes on why each title suits you.
Once you have started reading, join our monthly virtual book circle or our Limerick-based in-person meetup. Share your reactions, debate endings, and discover connections between titles you would never have spotted alone.
After each book you finish, rate it in your reading log. Our curators refine future suggestions based on your evolving preferences, ensuring every recommendation feels sharper than the last.
Hand-assembled by our team, each collection is a doorway into a mood, a question, or a corner of the world.
Novels that prize language and interiority over plot twists. Think character studies set in small towns, epistolary experiments, and stories that linger long after the final sentence.
Science fiction and speculative works that interrogate technology, climate, and identity. From hard sci-fi to solarpunk, these titles imagine what comes next — and ask whether we are ready.
True stories told with the pacing and craft of a novel. Investigative journalism, memoir, cultural criticism, and micro-histories that make you see the real world differently.
Outstanding works originally written in languages other than English. We partner with specialist translators and small presses to surface titles that rarely appear on mainstream bestseller lists.
Picture books, middle-grade adventures, and young-adult stories that respect their readers. Every title in this collection has been tested by kids and approved by the parents who read alongside them.
Thrillers, mysteries, and crime fiction chosen for plotting ingenuity rather than shock value. If you have ever missed your bus stop because you could not stop reading, this collection is yours.
These figures update as our community grows. Every number represents a real person who chose to spend their time with a book we recommended.
Every month one of our curators champions a single book they believe deserves wider attention.
Set in an Irish town in 1985, this novella follows a coal merchant whose quiet life is disrupted when he discovers a secret at the local convent. Keegan writes with extraordinary compression — every sentence carries the weight of a paragraph, and the story asks profound questions about complicity, courage, and moral responsibility.
Our curator Siobhán chose it because it demonstrates that a book need not be long to be devastating. At barely a hundred pages, it is the kind of story you will finish in a single sitting and think about for months.
Everything you might wonder before joining our reading community.
Yes. Our core recommendation service is completely free. We earn a small commission when you purchase a book through our partner links, but you are never obligated to buy through us. Many readers simply use our lists as inspiration and source the titles from their local library or second-hand shop.
Each curator reads at least sixty titles a year across their specialist genres. They cross-reference your taste profile with their reading notes, recent reviews from trusted literary journals, and feedback from other community members who share similar preferences. No algorithm is involved in the final selection.
Absolutely. While we hold a monthly in-person gathering in Limerick city, every session is simultaneously hosted online. Readers from across Ireland, the UK, and beyond regularly join via video call. The discussion is moderated to ensure everyone has a chance to contribute.
We do not operate as a bookshop. Our role is curation and community. We link to independent booksellers and libraries wherever possible, and we are transparent about any affiliate relationships.
Most readers receive their personalised shortlist within two working days of completing the taste profile. During peak periods — such as the weeks before Christmas — it may take up to four days, but we will always let you know if there is a delay.
Whether you have a question about our collections or want to suggest a title, we would love to hear from you.
